Mazón calls for "a new stage" in the AVL so that "everyone feels represented"

The president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, has claimed this Tuesday the need to open a "new stage" in the Valencian Academy of Language (AVL) so that "everyone feels represented by their Academy".

"I think it is a commendable goal," Mazón stated in Castelló, where he was asked about the meeting he will hold on September 11 with the president of the AVL, Verónica Cantó; a meeting to which, as he has said, he will attend with "broad vision" and "generosity" and from which he has reiterated that he expects a series of "gestures".

The president has insisted on the need for dialogue, "sensitivity" and "harmony", because from his point of view "that sensitivity has moved too far away with Valencianism in recent years, especially the years of the Botànic".

Mazón has refused to specify what "gestures" he expects from the statutory entity, since he does not want to "predispose" the meeting that he will have with the president of the AVL in two weeks, although he has assured that he has a "fairly approximate" idea of what He would do.

"I think that what is dignified, what is loyal, what is institutional and what is constructive is to transfer directly to the Academy and first to the Academy what are the ways in which I think progress can be made", said the president, who has shown himself convinced of that "advance can be made" and "advance must be made".

As a "general reflection" for all the institutions, from the Consell to Les Corts and the AVL, and for Valencian society in general, "we can all do something more", insisted the president, who was convinced that "it is time to raise it in a constructive tone and in a tone of integration".

"This will undoubtedly be a quite evident change with respect to the years of the Botànic" when, in his opinion, they wanted the Executive to be "happy" and "all the rest of us had to fold until the Consell was happy".

Mazón finally stressed that "here is not about the Consell or the president of the Generalitat being happy, it is not about this", but that there is dialogue and "harmony".
