Mazón and Ayuso stage an axis of opposition to Sánchez and their strategic collaboration

A strategic political axis between the Valencian Community and that of Madrid was made official this morning at the second business summit organized by the Conexus Foundation in Madrid. An axis that has Isabel Díaz Ayuso and Carlos Mazón as main actors and that pursues several objectives: collaboration to accelerate the execution of logistics infrastructures of common interest such as the expansion of the port of València, the improvement of railway and land infrastructure and, also, join forces to oppose Pedro Sánchez's Executive.

The appointment represents a paradigm shift in the relationship that the previous Valencian executive, chaired by Ximo Puig, had with the Madrid president. "It's about not seeing Madrid as a disloyal competitor, with "dumping" eyes, about wanting to prevent it from growing; in Spain you don't cry, you compete," Mazón stressed in reference, without citing him, to the criticism that for years the Botànic executive made to the Madrid executive. Well, on the contrary, and as Ayuso has pointed out, "we are two autonomies that want to go hand in hand and work for Spain."

Proof that this political axis has clear coincidences in its criticism of the PSOE Executive and Sumar has been the criticism that both have not hesitated to launch at the Government for the Amnesty Law. Ayuso, in his speech at the forum being held at the Madrid Casino, denounced that "today is a bad day for Spain, they want to reinterpret the Constitution, they are attacking the separation of powers, they are leaving us with a scorched earth." Mazón, for his part, has pointed out that "it is a sad day" and has reiterated that "our legal services are considering denouncing the Law before the Constitutional Court."

The axis staged today is not similar to the one that José María Aznar promoted in 2004 to oppose José Luís Rodríguez Zapatero with Esperanza Aguirre, Francisco Camps and Jaume Matas, and which was known as the "Axis of prosperity." On this occasion, the Ayuso-Mazón axis is being forged on its own initiative, it is not driven by Genoa, and it presents a complicity far from the position that Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla maintains with the Spanish Government, more possibilist and pactist, as has happened with the Doñana case.

One of the surprises has been that Ayuso has shown his support for the new financing system to take into account the population criterion, which is one of the key demands of the Generalitat Valenciana. In addition, he also supports the possibility of a write-off of the Valencian debt, which amounts to 57,000 million euros. This is another historic demand to alleviate the accumulation of debt due to underfinancing and deliveries from the Autonomous Liquidity Fund, FLA.
