Mazón after approving the budgets: "The change has been launched"

The 'president' of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, has been "very satisfied" with the approval of the Budgets for 2024, his first accounts as head of the Consell, with which he has considered that "the change has been set in motion" . The first accounts prepared by this coalition Council, which amount to 29,732 million euros (4.5% more than this year) and will come into force on January 1.

Mazón has congratulated the Minister of Finance, Ruth Merino, and her entire team for their "magnificent work" that has had "many protagonists", both in the groups of the PP and Vox, as well as in those of the PSPV and Compromís, whom they have Approved 98 amendments, compared to the eight that the Botànic approved for the opposition in the 2023 accounts.

"We are very satisfied because the change is now underway," he noted, "with the highest health budget in history, which is said to be soon." "It is launched with the highest educational budget in history, which is said soon. It is launched with the highest social services budget in history, which is said soon," he added.

And he has had an impact: "At the same time, we abolish the death tax. At the same time, we implement income tax deductions for the lowest incomes, those of less than 32,000 euros, which are the ones that pay the most. need, because we prioritize those who need it most, and at the same time we lower the housing tax for young people and other vulnerable groups by 25%.

"We eliminated political spending, we reduced the beach bars, foundations, with a start of remodeling of the public sector of more than 300 million euros. And all this without the Government of Spain having given us a single indication, a single clue, a single help. I think we cannot ask for more at this time," he said.

The two opposition groups, PSPV-PSOE and Compromís, have voted against considering that they will represent a brake on economic growth and are also doomed to cuts, while the two groups that support the Consell have defended that they are "responsible" and "rigorous."

The 2024 regional budgets have been approved without any setback or controversy in the last plenary session of Les Corts this year, one day after giving the green light to what is known as the law accompanying this norm and after debating three thousand proposed budget amendments by the opposition.
