López Miras accepts the presence of Vox in his government to avoid repeating elections in Murcia

Three months after the 28-M elections, the PP has had to give in to the claims of Vox and Santiago Abascal's party will enter the Government of the Region of Murcia, contrary to the initial claims of the current acting president, Fernando López Miras, who had flatly rejected the presence of members of the far-right party in his cabinet.

According to the information that emerged yesterday, Vox would occupy the ministries of Development and Security, Interior and Emergencies, the latter with the rank of vice presidency. However, it does not seem that the PP is going to cede the area of Agriculture to which the Murcian ultranationalist leader, José Ángel Antelo, aspired.

López Miras based the refusal to have Vox advisers in his government on his electoral results, which did not require the affirmative vote of those of Abascal in his inauguration and his abstention was enough since the PP had been left with only two seats of the absolute majority.

But if the Murcian president was firm in his claims, Vox was even more so, which did not give in to pressure from the PP, which argued that after the 28-M elections it had obtained 18% of the votes and five more seats that it gave them right to be in the executive

With these arguments, a first investiture was voted on July 7, which was unsuccessful, thus starting the two-month period for an electoral repetition that ended this coming Thursday. With this term almost exhausted, López Miras has given his arm to twist.

The transfer of López Miras occurs after the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, and that of Vox, Santiago Abascal, reached an agreement for the leader of the far-right party to support the investiture of the president of the PP in the debate that will take place on September 26 and 27 at the Congress. With that support, "in exchange for nothing", he supposed that Feijóo could count on 33 more deputies than adding to the 137 obtained in the elections. That decision by Abascal not to demand entering a hypothetical Feijóo government allowed the popular leader to add not only UPN, but also the Canary Coalition to his support.

With this, Feijóo hoped that the PNV would agree to talk with the PP about the investiture by getting rid of the essential element that made support from the Basque nationalists impossible, the presence of Vox. However, even so, those of Ortuzar do not plan to sit down with Feijóo, because Vox is still in the equation.

With that of Murcia, the PP will govern with Vox in five autonomous communities: Extremadura, the Valencian Community, Castilla y León, Aragón and the latter, while it will have the external support of the ultranationalists in Cantabria, the Balearic Islands and participates in the government of Canary Islands. Finally, it has the government with an absolute majority in Galicia, Madrid, Andalusia and La Rioja.
