The Civil Guard is investigating the owner of a company in the canine sector of Aragon accused of a crime of animal abuse.
The events occurred on July 20, when the workers of a company in the Lleida region of La Noguera dedicated to the management and recycling of animal by-products found a live dog inside a hopper with animal carcasses prepared to be shredded.
The agents' investigation found that irregularities were committed in the animal's euthanasia process, since it did not cause its death and, nevertheless, it entered the animal corpse disposal circuit.
The animal had to be admitted to a veterinary hospital for several days. Currently he is already in good health and recovering from injuries.
The proceedings have been delivered to the Balaguer guard court and the dog is at the disposal of the judicial authority.
