Milwaukee Justice Janet Protasiewicz was elected to the Wisconsin Supreme Court Tuesday night, giving this increasingly important swing state a progressive majority. This endangers the electoral map redrawn by the conservatives to ensure advantages and, above all, it represents a victory for the defenders of abortion.
When the US Supreme Court struck down the ruling guaranteeing this right nationwide, Wisconsin outlawed access to abortion.
Although it is not customary to campaign in the political style, Protasiewicz flagged her views in favor of pregnancy termination. His victory will allow the liberal side to lift that ban -- a restriction that dates back to the 19th century -- once a lawsuit filed by Democrat Attorney General Josh Kaul reaches that instance.
The Trumpist noise, once again, comes out badly.
