The Blaugrana leader was forceful and stated that “the League is adulterated.” In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, Laporta spoke openly about refereeing: “The competition cannot be adulterated any more with decisions like those last Sunday at the Bernabéu.”
The president of Barça, asked about whether the competition is adulterated, assured: "Man, with these results yes, because it is not just this Sunday." “We have been analyzing the issue and there are already a series of points that our rival has achieved by benefiting from referee decisions. Now, I also have to say we are used to this, huh? "We have always fought against the elements, we know what they are," added Laporta.
Although the culé leader believes that now he has gone too far and that is why he has asked the Federation to take action on the matter: "This time they were being too obvious and that is why we formally complained to the Federation," he stated. In this sense, Laporta explained what Pedro Rocha, acting president of the RFEF, told him when he conveyed these concerns to him: “He told me that what is past is past and that they plan to take action on the matter. He has also told me that the referees do not feel pressured, he wanted to reassure me in this regard.”
Laporta was respectful of the referee team, but did not hide his concern about these referee actions: “I have absolute respect for the referee team. I have said it and I say it without fissures. But we are also seeing some situations that are worrying us a lot and if we continue like this, it will be very difficult for us to achieve our objectives.”
A concern that also affects the squad, Laporta acknowledged: “Above all I am concerned about the morale of our players, because at the end of the Benito Villamarín match, where we played a good game and we are proud of how it went because goals were scored, I saw the players worried about the Bernabéu.”
The Blaugrana president was firm: “As a club, we have to take action on the matter. I am a president who does not hide from facing situations and I think that I have to raise my voice in this case because I see an injustice and when we see this injustice we denounce it and we want those who have the responsibility of solving this issue to take action on the matter. and make decisions to correct it.”
