Automobili Lamborghini has presented the Huracán STJ in the form of a limited edition of ten unique units as a tribute and recognition of its iconic supercar; the last series that will mount the legendary atomophetic V10 block. The naturally aspirated V-10 engine is a symbol of Automobili Lamborghini's history and has contributed very significantly to the success of the Huracán family, first introduced in 2014. This emblem of the automotive manufacturer's engineering Sant'Agata Bolognese will be replaced at the end of the year by a completely new model already equipped with a new electrified hybrid propulsion system.
With a design based on the Huracán STO, the STJ represents the pinnacle of performance achieved in the history of the Huracán family, thanks to the introduction of an exclusive package designed to further enhance the sporting spirit of the Huracán STO. The acronym STJ stands for Super Trofeo Jota: Super Trofeo pays homage to the Lamborghini one-make championship, established in 2009, while Jota refers to Appendix 'J' of the FIA Regulations that establishes the specifications of racing cars, and also to a long tradition of Lamborghini models developed for the track, starting from the Miura SVJ and continuing with the Aventador SVJ.
The Huracán STJ stands out thanks to its specific aerodynamic package developed by Lamborghini Squadra Corse technicians, taking advantage of the knowledge acquired during ten years at the top of Gran Turismo competitions. The STO's sophisticated aerodynamics have been further improved with the addition of two completely new carbon fiber aerodynamic appendages (flicks) to the iconic “cofango”, while the angle of the rear wing has been increased by 3° compared to the production model. to guarantee a 10% increase in downforce while keeping the car perfectly balanced.
Like the STO, the Huracán STJ delivers a maximum power of 640 HP at 8,000 rpm and a torque of 565 Nm (at 8,000 rpm) controlled by a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox (LDF-Lamborghini Doppia Frizione), which manages the delivery of power only to the rear wheels (rear wheel drive).
Mechanical grip has been significantly increased by a set of four racing-derived adjustable shock absorbers, which replace the standard active components. The shock absorbers are adjustable in four directions to optimize rebound and compression in both high and low frequencies, giving complete freedom of choice in configuration depending on the characteristics of the track.
The special characteristics of these shock absorbers make it possible to use a lower spring stiffness while maintaining optimal dynamic control of the car and increasing steering precision. To maximize driving dynamics, special Bridgestone Potenza Race tires have been developed for the STJ, made with a specific high-grip compound and mounted on 20” single-nut wheels.
These technical characteristics have made it possible to achieve an improvement of more than one second in the lap time of the Nardò Technical Center Handling Track compared to the Huracán STO, the most performance variant – until now – of the Huracán saga. Despite its radical approach and its “track focus” orientation, the STO (like the ten examples of the STJ) is a supercar that can also be used on a daily basis, although, logically, with certain limitations in comfort and usability but with records “ “terrestrial” with approved average consumption: 13.9 l/100 km (WLTP).
The limited production of the STJ in the form of a special farewell series makes this Huracán a collector's item from the moment it was launched. The lucky owners who manage to get their hands on one of the 10 pieces that Lamborghini has announced will most likely keep them safe, as they have many numbers of multiplying their value, given that they represent the culmination of an era that disappears forever: the of combustion engines without electrification.
The sporty character and exclusivity of the Huracán STJ are reflected in the aesthetics, with two different configuration and decoration options designed specifically by Lamborghini Centro Stile. The first combines Grigio Telesto bodywork (gray) in contrast with a Nero Noctis roof (black) and Rosso Mars (red) and Bianco Isi (white) details, while the cabin is characterized by equipping Alcantara Nero Cosmus seats with leather details with Rosso Alala stitching.
The second configuration features the eye-catching Blu Eliadi (blue) body color with Nero Noctis roof (black) and Rosso Mars (red) and Bianco Isi (white) accents. Both versions also feature a special numbered carbon fiber plate marked “1 of 10.” Additionally, there is the option to add a special personalized license plate on the passenger side according to the specifications indicated by the customer.
