Julia Garner joins Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby and Joseph Quinn in 'Fantastic Four'

Julia Garner will be part of the new Fantastic Four movie, from Marvel Studios, which also has Chilean actor Pedro Pascal among its protagonists. The news has been advanced by the specialized media Deadline, which assures that, although details of the plot remain unknown, the star of 'Ozark' could play the character of 'Sylver Surfer'.

The director in charge of the project is Matt Shakman, known for his work on 'WandaVision', while the script will be the responsibility of Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, Ian Springer and Eric Pearson.

Last February, Marvel announced that Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach will play the four superheroes created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1961, and that their premiere will be on July 25, 2025.

Pascal will play Reed Richards, also known as Mr. Fantastic; Kirby will play Sue Storm, who is the Invisible Woman ('Invisible Woman'); Quinn will play Johnny Storm, Human Torch, while Moss-Bachrach will play Ben Grimm, The Thing.

Garner's character is a humanoid alien with metallic skin who can travel through space with the help of his ship, which looks like a surfboard.

In the original comics, the Fantastic Four are astronauts who become superheroes after being exposed to cosmic rays in space, but the adventure they will embark on in this new film is still unknown. Production is scheduled to begin in summer.

Garner is a three-time Emmy winner for her role as Ruth on the Netflix crime drama 'Ozark,' and her work on the series 'Inventing Anna' earned her another nomination for those television awards. In cinema, she has been part of titles such as Hotel Royal and Wolf Man is pending release.
