Ireland beats France at the start of the Six Nations (17-38)

Ireland defeated France on Friday night at the Vélodrome in Marseille (17-38) in an intense match that opened a new edition of the Six Nations and which the Clover XV dominated from start to finish without giving the locals hardly any options.

The new Irish fly-half Jack Crowley, replacement for the legendary Johny Sexton, was the star of the night by opening the scoring with a penalty shot and being very reliable in all his shots on goal.

Jamison Gibson-Park, Tadhg Beirne, Calvin Nash, Dan Sheenan and Ronan Kelleher shared the five tries that the Irish got in an offensive festival against a XV del Gallo that started out as one of the strongest teams in the competition. Ireland is already running as the main candidate to revalidate the title.
