Income 2023: how to consult your tax data for the declaration from today

The 2023 income campaign, in which the personal income tax from last year is settled, adds another stage. Starting this Tuesday, March 19, you can request and consult the tax data that will later be used to prepare the tax return. The news comes just a couple of weeks before the official kickoff of the campaign, on Wednesday, April 3.

Starting at noon this Tuesday, taxpayers will have the tax data for 2023 at their disposal. That is, both the economic and property information available to the treasury. To access these services, one of the ways is to choose to do so from the Tax Agency website, identifying yourself with an electronic certificate, Cl@ve PIN or reference number. In the latter case, the one from previous years no longer works, so you will have to remove box 505 from the 2022 income and get a new one.

Alternatively, the data can also be consulted in the official app of the Tax Agency, through the "Income" and "Income 2023" sections. "Today starting at 12:00 you will be able to access the tax data for the 2023 financial year," a notice states. The mechanisms to identify themselves are similar.

The data available to the Tax Agency is used to prepare the draft of the declaration. These include, for example, income from working as an employee, interest generated in bank accounts (remunerated accounts, deposits) or from the rental of properties and parking spaces, if declared. With them you can get an idea of whether you will have to pay or return with the Renta Web Open simulator.

But it must be taken into account that it is possible that the tax authorities are missing some data that will have to be added when preparing the procedure, especially among self-employed or multi-employed workers. They do not necessarily imply an extra payment of taxes, in fact they can help reduce the tax bill thanks to regional reductions or deductions.

Declarations can be submitted online from April 3, the start date of the campaign, which runs until July 1. Between prior appointments, deadlines and various procedures, these are the key dates.
