Illa calls for collaboration and not confrontation: "I don't want to veto anyone, I want to reach out"

The PSC candidate for the presidency of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, called this Saturday to try "formulas of collaboration" and not "confrontation" based on an "attitude of respect": "I don't want a government of vetoes, no I want to veto anyone, I want to reach out," he said.

In statements to journalists from Igualada (Barcelona), Illa has maintained that it is time to stop "stirring up divisions in Catalan society", which is "plural and diverse", and that he is committed to "uniting" instead of dividing. .

He has insisted that Catalonia needs to undertake a "third great transformation" to improve its public services and has defended that the institutions must support the "energy and capacity to do things" that Catalan civil society shows.

He added that, if he becomes president after the elections on May 12, he will focus on "the things that really affect citizens", and has cited areas such as drought, education, infrastructure, renewable energy, health and housing.
