How to feel nature in the Rierada

Our ecosystem, our nature, is in a phase of no return: we have cut down the trees that populated the Amazon jungles, we have melted the poles and, of course, we do not stop a single day emitting toxic gases that destroy the atmosphere.

We live in a world in which little by little we have been disconnecting from nature. The growing use of new technologies, the throwaway culture or the depopulation of rural areas, are habits that have been distancing us from Her...

It is not surprising that biologists, ecologists and philosophers from all over the world have reflected deeply on this topic in recent times and that they have left us phrases about nature that make us think deeply. He quoted Thích Nhất Hạnh, a Vietnamese Zen Buddhist monk, writer, poet and peace activist:

"Establishing contact with the beauty of nature makes life much more beautiful, much more real, and the more attentive and concentrated you contemplate the sunset, the more deeply it will reveal itself to you."

A life separated from the natural world will never be an experience worth telling. I took this series of photographs for La Vanguardia Readers' Photos in the Collserola Natural Park, in the Rierada de Molins de Rei waterfall, in the Baix Llobregat region.

The salto de agua de la Rierada is a unique waterfall in Collserola, which can be reached through a pleasant walk through the riparian forest and parallel to the middle section of the Vallvidrera stream.

The area is declared a special protection area due to its great ecological value. The shortest version of the route is 1.5 km and can be completed in an hour. It leaves either from Can Planes or from Can Castellví.
