Glòria Coll Domingo is already the poet of the city

“A request: let's not stop reading poetry; It will help us glimpse the fragile, powerful and intangible beauty of the world, that is, everything that is fleeting, ephemeral and ineffable”. Antoni Clapés, president of the maintainers of the Jocs Florals de Barcelona thus ended the assessment of this year's contest, after reviewing the participation figures and statistics and making a brief analysis of the winning book, Through, by Glòria Coll Domingo (Riudoms , 1988), which the LaBreu publishing house will publish on June 9.

Clapés explained that it is a work divided into three parts that could be three separate books: a first on memory and the past, a second in which he explores new perspectives on eroticism and the affective and sexual relationship between men and women, and a last one that "It constitutes a very well-knit and well-articulated notebook of dreams, with a wide spectrum of dream images of high literary and psychoanalytic quality."

The Galician poet Gonzalo Hermo made the gloss, in which he highlighted "the carnality of his writing", "these are hard and precise poems that address the home, of a conscience so clear that it hurts (...) And even so never falls into the complaining or affected tone”, but “does not hesitate to use a relentless sense of humor”. Through is a serious book, even when it plays at making us laugh.

Later, the winner received the Jocs Florals prize and the Natural Flower, and explained how her work stems from the "desire for unity and inclusion, because society forces us to split up, to break up," and all of this "from a body that is explicitly feminine and functional. The deputy mayor for Culture, Jordi Martí, had started the act by recalling that as of today, Glòria Coll Domingo is already the city's poet. Next, Marina Porras made a historical note recalling the life and work of Gabriel Ferrater in the year of his centenary (he has just published the anthology of essay texts by Ferrater Donar nous als nens in Comanegra, with a long introduction), and immediately afterwards , from the poetic balance of the year 2021 that Gemma Medina has made, Raquel Santanera, Susanna Rafart, Joan Todó and Roser Bastida recited some poems.
