The Minister of Research and Universities, Gemma Geis, will assume the competences of the Ministry of Digital Policies and Territory until there is a new holder after the dismissal of Jordi Puigneró, according to RAC1.
It has been the former Minister and former Vice President who has chosen Minister Geis, who will thus have the department's signature and if there is any bureaucratic procedure, she will be in charge.
When a minister goes abroad or resigns, another member of the Consell Executiu is entrusted with the ordinary dispatch of the matters that concern that vacant ministry.
What remains vacant, however, is the vice-presidency of the Government, which corresponds to a member of Junts, until the crisis between the two partners of the Catalan Executive is resolved. After the contacts to bring positions closer this weekend have not borne any fruit, it will be the militancy of JxCat that decides at the end of the week in a consultation.
The party leadership is meeting this morning at its headquarters to ask the members a question. The question, which may be two instead of one, will give clues as to what may happen.
