This photographic report in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia conveys the full atmosphere of Sant Jordi that is experienced today in Girona, on the Rambla, on the Pont de Pedra, in the Plaza de Catalunya, on Carrer Nou... everything full, flooded with people.
The atmosphere of Sant Jordi has returned to the Barri Vell after the book and rose stalls have been located between Plaza de Catalunya, Rambla and Pont de Pedra. Since early in the morning, Plaza de Catalunya has been dyed red with the roses that the florists have displayed.
The booksellers have also placed their books in the interior part of this space. As for the entities, they have been distributed along the Rambla and the Pont de Pedra.
First thing in the morning there was the traditional lunch with writers, which this year served to commemorate the figure of Montserrat Vayreda from Figueres. This 2024 the Vayreda Year will be celebrated on the occasion of the centenary of the poet's birth.
Among the books on offer this year are publications that have appeared about the Girona Futbol Club for its successful season in LaLiga, such as Endavant Girona, by Xevi Masachs and edition of Rosa dels Vents, or 100 reasons to be from Girona, by Eduard Solà by Cossetània Editions.
Booksellers and publishers trust that it will be "a good Sant Jordi" in terms of sales and highlight the new location of the book and rose stalls in Plaza de Catalunya.
