Four injured by stabbing in a stab attack in Norway

At least four people have been stabbed and injured in an "indiscriminate" attack with a knife in the town of Nore, in a valley called Numedal, in southeastern Norway and near Oslo, local police reported this Friday.

One of the victims is in critical condition while the police continue to investigate the event. The suspect has since been arrested, but the motive for the attack is unknown.

According to witnesses cited by the Norwegian media, numerous police patrols and ambulances, as well as three medical helicopters, have been deployed to the scene.

The assault occurred shortly before nine o'clock in a valley called Numedal, a region north of Kongsberg, a town where a bow and knife attack killed five people last October. Its author, a Dane who suffers, according to experts, from psychiatric disorders, has been on trial since Thursday in Norway.
