The National Police have arrested four people in the Madrid neighborhood of Tetuán for allegedly robbing the home of an 89-year-old woman with a delicate state of health after one of the arrested, who was the victim's caregiver, allowed the home access to the other three.

The 21-year-old worker planned the assault after failing the trial period to care for the octogenarian internally, police sources have detailed to Efe.

Thus, the young woman recruited for the cause a 19-year-old friend, a 29-year-old man with a history of robbery with force, and a second 26-year-old man, all of Peruvian origin like her.

As reported by the Madrid Police Headquarters, the events occurred on June 11 when the Police went to a home located in the Madrid neighborhood of Tetuán, where a violent robbery had apparently been committed.

The agents were received by an 89-year-old woman who was in a high state of anxiety and with various bruises on her face and wrist, for which they requested medical assistance.

The woman, who due to her state of health was breathing with the help of an oxygen canister, told the agents that while she was watching television, she heard her caregiver open the front door through the telephone and later the door of the home.

Surprisingly, he told the police, several people he did not know approached him from behind, covered his eyes and mouth with two handkerchiefs, and threatened him so that he would not scream, at the same time that they took the remote assistance button from him to that could not alert the emergency services.

While she was being held, she heard the assailants, including her caretaker, searching the house.

When they left the home, he untied himself and called his son, who in turn alerted the National Police to what had happened.

They stole cash, various bags and watches.

After the investigations, a police device carried out on July 5 and 6 was able to locate and arrest the two women allegedly involved in the events in the vicinity of the Marqués de la Valdavia Metro station, in the Madrid town of Alcobendas.

The two men accused of participating in the robbery were also arrested.

The four are charged with a crime of robbery with violence.

The judicial authority ordered the provisional detention of the two women and the man with a criminal record, while the other man, who allegedly carried out surveillance work during the assault, was released.
