The XV Formentera Fashion Show has taken a leap in quality in this new edition with a parade that has exuded originality and creativity through the collections of the twenty designers who have starred in the event.
Special and creative fashion that on a small scale, like the island itself, conveys the beauty of unique, handcrafted pieces, framed in sustainable and conscious fashion.
The Plaza de Europa in es Pujols has been the scene of the parade organized by the Consell de Formentera, which was held this Friday in front of more than 600 people.
To the recycling of textiles, the use of organic materials, the creation of unique pieces, the capsule collections and the "slow fashion" fashion that characterize fashion made in Formentera, this time the values of inclusivity and diversity have been added, which have inspired the concept of this edition "Tonalitats" (tones), represented in the parade by young people, diversely skilled boys and girls from the Diver Gent association.
On the catwalk, each creator has presented six models of clothing, jewelry or footwear, which in most cases have been specially designed to be worn in this showcase that marks the beginning of summer in this corner of the Mediterranean.
Sew and sing is a sewing project of unique pieces made by hand from the recovery and resignification of materials that previously had another use. Tablecloths, sheets, rugs and old embroideries are the protagonists of this collection that aims to honor the work of so many women who made their homes, homes full of dedication by making their own trousseau.
Fabiana Schulz, creator of this collection inspired by Adlib fashion and old home clothes, considers this show a joint effort with many other women.
Dedicated to textile recycling and music, with a workshop on the island and a stop at the Mercado de la Mola, Fabiana finds in these natural fabrics of linen, cotton thread, Mallorcan drap, the inspiration to carry out her work and also her songs.
The jeweler Ur Calvet also designs an exclusive collection for each catwalk, with jewels created based on the oxidation of metals with which he manages to impregnate the turquoise and blue colors inspired by the sea that surrounds Formentera.
This year's motto, "Tonalitats", adapts to the philosophy that she always seeks to convey with her jewels: "I wanted to show and claim, especially this year when everything is changing in society, that jewelery is a product that does not go towards a specific sex, towards a gender, and that gender is not important in jewelry", Calvet remarked.
With a decade of experience on the catwalk, but as a 25-year career in the world of fashion, the designer Ivonne Ruiz, Kavra de Formentera, has also paraded with her collection "full of color, joy, movement, elegance and naturalness ". "It is a collection very inspired by what Formentera is, in reality, in freedom", highlighted the creator.

The Majoral jewelry firm was in charge of closing the Catwalk with a selection of silver and gold necklaces from the "Capellets" collection, a 1996 reissue, the work of Enric Majoral.
