Ford requests aid from the second Perte VEC for battery assembly in Valencia

Ford has confirmed that it has submitted an application for the specific line of batteries of the second call for the Strategic Project for the Recovery and Economic Transformation of the Electric and Connected Vehicle (Perte VEC).

The objective is to develop a battery assembly project in Valencia, sources from the multinational have informed Europa Press.

The central government has enabled this Monday the window for the first line of the second call for the Perte VEC, aimed at aiding battery production projects.

This first line of the second call, which will be available until September 15, is endowed with 837 million euros, of which 550 million are grants and the remaining 287 million, concession in the format of loans.

Last June, the president of the Ford Almussafes Works Council, Carlos Faubel, advanced the company would submit applications to attend the two lines of the second Perte VEC call, after a meeting in Cologne with representatives of the company's European management. According to the union representative, Ford's goal is to also assemble the batteries at the Almussafes (Valencia) plant.
