Foment celebrates that the PSOE and Junts agreement provides for measures for the return of companies

Foment del Treball has assessed favorably in a statement that the investiture agreement reached this Thursday between PSOE and Junts contemplates actions to facilitate the return to Catalonia of companies that decided to move their headquarters to other communities as a result of the independence process.

The Catalan employers' association recalls that the president of Foment, Josep Sánchez Llibre, has insisted on many occasions "on the need for the return of these companies because Catalonia is where they should be."

"Any agreement that promotes facilitating the return of companies to Catalonia is welcome. The necessary condition for this return is the sum of stability and legal security to favor a social and economic climate that promotes the confidence necessary to attract investments and the improvement of the country's productivity," the note states.

After October 1, 2017, more than 3,800 companies changed their registered offices, including large multinationals and all banks, led by Caixabank and Banc Sabadell. In April, the Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Raquel Sánchez, opened the door to her return by pointing out that the circumstances that motivated the transfers no longer exist.
