Fiber optic coils instead of straw bales

Today I would like to talk about this series of snapshots that I have photographed for La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos in a field in Sant Esteve de Palautordera.

Right off the bat, you could say that it is an image 2.0. We can find some mountains, thin clouds and a field, but the main element that stands out is this fiber optic coil in the middle of the meadow.

A shocking image, since on many occasions, for example, in summer, we usually see large bales of straw spread across a mown field.

Both straw bales and this coil have similar characteristics, both in shape and color, but they have nothing to do with each other. Thus, this image can also take on a critical tone. It seems that now everything has to go through a Bluetooth connection, have the latest app update or be connected to Wi-Fi, also in the field.

Although there has been progress, rural life continues to be a farmer working side by side with the land. A job that requires patience, effort, wisdom and, on the other hand, the optical fiber of that coil is a symbol of speed, instantaneity and many changes.

Without a doubt, a curious image, although it also gives a lot to think about. Two worlds so far away and, at the same time, so close.
