The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has incorporated the economist and former MEP of Ciudadanos Luis Garicano into the PP foundation, recently renamed Reformismo21, in the middle of the electoral campaign, in a new signing in the orange ranks that has been expected for months.

Garicano left his record as a representative of Ciudadanos in the European Parliament in July last year to join as a professor at Columbia University (New York). This incorporation into the Reformismo21 foundation does not imply militancy in the PP, since Alberto Núñez Feijóo has wanted to add to this organization experts from all social fields who want to contribute something to society, expressing their ideas freely and without commitment to I support the PP in elections, neither the current ones nor the next general ones.

As of this Monday, May 22, he has been linked to the ideological foundation of the Popular Party, as some media have advanced and popular party sources have confirmed, noting that Garicano "puts his knowledge and experience at the disposal of the PP candidate's project to the presidency of the Government".

Feijóo himself thanked this morning, through a message on Twitter, the incorporation of Garicano to the foundation linked to the PP. In this message, the popular leader thanks Garciano for joining the Foundation to "and help generate the projects that Spain needs to get out of stagnation", and adds that "configuring a project at the height of the country requires having the best , with the sole criterion of preparation and vocation for public service".

Feijóo's team has not hidden its interest in signing the Ciudadanos star economist in recent months, in a move conditioned by the contract that he maintains with Columbia University. The president of the PP has always said that all those who have belonged to Cs have a place in the PP, in this case it has been the Foundation, as long as they have something to contribute.

The PP announced in March of this year that the foundation was no longer called Concordia y Libertad, as it was baptized in its day by the former president of the PP Pablo Casado, to be called Reformismo21, thus alluding to the reforms and structural changes that the country in this 21st century.

With the aim of attracting talent and experience to give "added value to politics in general and to the PP in particular", its members include former ministers Fátima Báñez or Ramón Escolano, as well as coach Toni Nadal, current sports technical director of the Rafa Nadal Academy, among other experts.
