Feijóo attacks the Perte of the car and the Government asks him to document himself

New controversy between the Government and the opposition, and with the new part of the automotive sector involved. And it is that this Tuesday, the president of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has criticized this Strategic Project for Recovery and Transformation and has requested a new one, to which the central Executive has not been slow to respond, even with the support of a More than recognized NGO: Greenpeace.

The controversy began this morning. The leader of the PP has gone to Ifema to inaugurate the second edition of expoGanvam, the annual congress of the National Association of Vehicle Sellers and Repairers (Ganvam). And during his speech, he referred to the new Automotive Part and described as an "error" that the central Executive is "exclusively promoting electric vehicles." In addition, he has requested a new resolution after the "failure" of the current one.

Throughout his speech, Alberto Núñez Feijóo also wanted to highlight that the automotive sector is a "key" sector of the economy, that Spain is at the tail of Europe in the recovery of pre-pandemic GDP and, once again regarding Perte, that of the 24,000 million expected, only about 2,200 million have been mobilized.

For this reason, the president of the Popular Party has insisted that there is still time to convene a new Automotive Part and has criticized that the Government "is insisting on selling electric vehicles and not on removing vehicles of more than 10, 12, 13, 14 and 15 years", because those are more polluting, and thus carry out "the transition in an orderly manner".

Likewise, Feijóo has stressed that the Government should abandon its "energy intransigence" for insisting on promoting electric vehicles that consumers cannot access and for which there are not enough charging stations. "The Government has decided to put an end to many of the energy sources that were working," concluded the leader of the PP.

After these strong statements by Alberto Núñez Feijóo, the Government has not been slow to react. It has been through the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, who will also be the Socialist candidate in the next municipal elections in Madrid.

Specifically, Maroto has been asked about the words of the opposition leader and the minister has advised Feijóo to "research and read" before talking about the automotive industry, while stressing that electrified vehicles are already the first purchase option in Spain.

Subsequently, in a tweet, Reyes Maroto has exposed some information to continue responding to Alberto Núñez Feijóo. Specifically, he pointed out that "the electrified vehicle is the first purchase option in Spain, 13.2% of the production in our plants", that "the PERTE of the automobile attracts investments to Spain such as the gigafactory in Sagunto" and that "All of Europe is determined: the option is the electric car".

For its part, the environmental NGO Greenpeace has also ruled on Feijóo's speech. Specifically, he has referred to the statements of the popular leader in which he has proposed "immediately removing" old cars "to make a transition immediately".

"Feijóo proposes to change the old CO2 for new CO2, which must be a magical CO2 that does not heat the planet," the non-governmental organization said on Twitter.

A new confrontation between the Government and the Popular Party, which this time has been criticized twice over.
