Feijóo accepts the face to face with Sánchez and proposes to include Yolanda Díaz

The PP has already given its response to the PSOE on the electoral debates and has done so once the deadline for registering the lists for the general elections on July 23 has closed through a letter sent by the PP's deputy secretary for institutional action, Esteban González Pons , to the Secretary of Organization of the PSOE, Santos Cerdán, to convey to him that they accept a single face-to-face between Alberto Núñez Feijóo and the member of the Government coalition determined by the PSOE and Sumar, understanding that these would be Pedro Sánchez or Yolanda Díaz.

Although the PP also opens the door for both to debate with their leader.

In the letter, the popular ones indicate that they agree to hold the face-to-face meeting proposed by the Socialists "after the overwhelmed request repeated by their president" and González Pons specifies that since the government is the first coalition government in history and that its vice president second has publicly expressed its interest in participating in this face-to-face, they are waiting for the forces that make up the Executive to communicate which person they designate for the debate.

They understand that the proposal would be Pedro Sánchez or Yolanda Díaz, but they add that "to facilitate your internal situation within the Government" they would accept the possibility that the debate would go "to three" with Sánchez and Díaz.

The idea with which the PP approaches the negotiations of the electoral debates does not contemplate, in any of the cases, the six face to face that the President of the Government has offered to the PP, one per week for two weeks now.

The popular ones also raise a debate with the four main parties in Spain (PSOE, PP, Vox and Sumar) and with those who, hand in hand with Pedro Sánchez, joined the "governance of the State" (ERC, PNV and Bildu). .

PSOE sources have already pointed out that the letter received "exudes the same lack of respect and the same lackadaisical tone that permeates all the statements of the PP" and that it is not the PP that determines the debates but the convening communication groups (RTVE, A3MEDIA , MEDIASET and PRISA) that have requested face-to-face debates between Sánchez and Feijóo and debates with four, with the 4 national formations. The PSOE has accepted all these debates, they remember. For this reason, the socialist sources who see "an eagerness to seek pretexts and avoid debates at all costs" call on the PP to decide which debates it accepts and which it rejects in order to immediately negotiate with them on technical issues.

For their part, Sumar sources point out that democracy "needs electoral campaigns with debates, ideas and proposals" and point out that a three-way debate "is more like today's Spain" than a two-way debate. "We are going to hold the debates that are necessary," explain the sources who are committed to carrying out "a positive campaign."
