The Delegation against Gender Violence has confirmed the femicides of two women and a five-year-old girl that occurred in Madrid since last Saturday, November 25, as sexist murders, and has excluded from the statistics the death of a woman who had been confirmed. as gender violence in Cádiz last April.

The latest confirmed cases of sexist violence are three. One of them occurred last Saturday, November 25 – International Day of Violence against Women – when a man strangled his wife in the presence of their two and three-year-old children in Vallecas (Madrid). The woman died this Monday as a result of her injuries. The alleged murderer had no record of abuse nor was he under any restraining order.

The Court of Violence Against Women number 1 of Madrid has announced provisional arrest without bail for the couple and alleged murderer, 42 years old, who is an active Army captain. In addition, the judge has also ordered this afternoon the removal and incommunication of the daughters, as well as the suspension of parental authority.

The other two victims are a 25-year-old girl and her 5-year-old daughter who were stabbed by the woman's ex-partner in the Carabanchel neighborhood. The young woman was registered in the VioGén police system after reporting her partner. The Police classified this case as high risk, which is why it had very high protection measures. But on October 30, 2020, the court withdrew the protection measures imposed a month and a half earlier by another court on the murdered woman.
