Endesa exceeds half a million customers with the social bonus in Spain

At the end of the first quarter of 2023, Endesa has exceeded half a million customers benefiting from the social bonus, as reported by the company this morning. Of the total, around 230,500 are vulnerable families that have a 65% reduction in their bill and 274,300 are severely vulnerable, to which an 80% reduction is applied.

In Catalonia, at the end of this first quarter, Endesa has recorded nearly 124,000 customers adhering to the social bonus, 26,000 more than in December 2021. A total of 59,000 are vulnerable, so they enjoy a 65% discount on the receipt of electricity consumption, or 40% if they have the temporary energy justice voucher. Another 64,700 are severely vulnerable, so they benefit from the aforementioned 80% reduction.

It should be remembered that these rates for these groups will be maintained until December 31.

Endesa recalls that "the coronavirus and the energy crisis have boosted the growth of the beneficiaries of the social bonus, which has been reinforced by the automatic renewals that have been implemented since Royal Decree Law 6/2022 came into force". So far, more than 33,000 customers have been able to automatically renew the social bonus in Catalonia.
