The average price of electricity in the wholesale market fell 8.2% this Tuesday, standing at 240.58 euros per megawatt hour (MWh), with the cost of the pool and compensation to gas companies, compared to 261, 99 euros from yesterday.
According to the latest data from the Iberian Electricity Market Operator (OMIE), with this decrease the price of electricity breaks with two days of increases that came after falling below 200 euros on Saturday, something that happened for the first time since last July 7.
The pool price remains at 149.47 euros, 22.6% less than the 193.03 euros of yesterday, Monday.
For its part, the amount of gas compensation reaches 91.11 euros per MWh, compared to 68.96 euros yesterday, which translates into a rise of 32.1%. However, the figure is 4.7% lower than the 95.60 euros of compensation on Tuesday of last week.
In short, the 240.58 euros per MWh represent a rise of 7.2% compared to the 224.35 euros of Tuesday of last week and a decrease of 21.2% over the 305.14 euros of a month ago , August 20.
In a year-on-year comparison, this Tuesday an increase in price of 23.5% was registered since on September 20 of last year the price was 156.75 euros per MWh.
