Dismantled in Tagamanent a laboratory that designs drugs for export by packaging

The National Police and the Tax Agency have dismantled a laboratory for the manufacture of new psychoactive substances in Tagamanent, in Vallès Oriental (Barcelona).

In the laboratory, synthetic drugs were made from natural narcotic substances that were then exported to North America, Oceania and European countries through parcels. There are three detainees from the same family and in the search and shipments, materials have been seized to produce more than 7.5 million doses of substances such as the stimulant drug known as 'monkey dust' and other synthetic drugs. The operation has been developed within the framework of the United Nations GRIDS project and with the collaboration of the United States agencies DEA and CBP.

The investigation began at the beginning of March, after learning that dangerous designer drugs were being sent from somewhere in the Barcelona area, both in the United States and in several European countries.

The agents identified a member of the organization who made shipments from different parcel offices in Barcelona and monitored him. Several shipments to Spain and the United States were intercepted through American agencies.

The organization sent substances from different families such as opiates and synthetic cannabinoids. The chemical synthesis of these substances makes it possible to increase the potency of the effects it produces and expand or modify the type of effect.

The shipments, despite having a very low weight, had a great economic value, due to the difficulty of processing. They were sent through a company that presented itself under various corporate names and had its headquarters in Barcelona. He also had accounts associated with a Hungarian company.

The agents identified the place where those investigated lived and where they had the laboratory. He was in a house in Tagamanent. Behind the shipments were two people of Hungarian nationality residing in Barcelona.
