Discovered cabins and caves in the Bages

Walking through the burnt forest that is beginning to sprout from the Pont de Vilomara, in Bages, I have been able to find, to my surprise, buildings and caves (balmes) that were hidden by the vegetation before the fire.

In this report in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia we can see some examples at a time when, luckily, the forest is already regenerating with new vegetation.

The flames burned, in July of last year, more than 1,750 hectares in a fire that forced the eviction of nearly 200 residents.

The tragedy hit Bages again last summer with another large forest fire. The flames even burned nearly 450 hectares within the domains of the Sant Llorenç del Munt i l'Obac natural park.

Nature demonstrates a great power of regeneration at the Pont de Vilomara and, although the traces of fire can still be seen on the bark of the trees and on the stones, the vegetation has once again filled the landscape with green this spring.
