Diesel shoots up 5% in a week and gasoline rises another 3%

The price of fuel chains the second week of increases. The increase has been notable in diesel, which climbs 5% these days and is close to 2 euros per liter, with 1,949 euros, according to the European Union Oil Bulletin published this Thursday. In the case of gasoline, the cost also rose, 2.6% to 1,756 euros per liter.

If the aid of 20 cents in force since April is taken into account, the diesel is paid at 1,749 euros at the pump, for the 1,556 euros of gasoline. With these prices, filling an average 55-liter tank costs 96.2 euros if you refuel with diesel -21.5 euros more than last year- and 85.64 euros with gasoline -4 euros more expensive-.

Comparing with last year and applying the government discount, gasoline is now 4.99% more expensive than a year ago, when the Russian invasion of Ukraine had not yet taken place, and diesel is 28.89%. In any case, they are today 20% and 8% below the maximums that were paid in June.

Spanish prices remain below the European average, which according to statistics is 1,832 euros per liter for gasoline and 1,971 euros per liter for diesel.

If you take a look at the rest of Europe, the highest prices for gasoline are found in Denmark (2,196 euros per litre) and Sweden (2,160), while Slovenia (1,388) and Poland (1,422) are the cheapest. In diesel, refueling is more expensive in Sweden (2,561 euros) and Denmark (2,214) and cheaper in Malta (1,210) and Bulgaria (1,641).
