Darling Arrieta charges against Daniel Sancho and his father: "My brother was brutally murdered"

Edwin Arrieta and Daniel Sancho were two of the most talked about names on television in 2023, particularly in social chronicle programs. The Colombian surgeon became known in the Iberian Peninsula after the Spanish cook's confession, claiming that he had dismembered him after a fight in Thailand. Since then, the accused murderer has remained in jail awaiting trial.

The hearing began this past Tuesday under extraordinary security measures against the leak of information: Sancho's trip in a van with tinted windows, body checks when entering the courts and the warning of serious consequences. All of this coincided with the surprise premiere of The Sancho Case, a Cuarzo documentary for HBO Max with which Rodolfo Sancho and Silvia Bronchalo sought to pay for the trial.

The footage, which disappeared 24 hours after appearing on the streaming platform, left a multitude of statements from the detainee's father. “Isn't the situation the best in the world? Of course, there are worse ones, right? There are much worse, much worse. I've been preparing for this my whole life. 90% of the time we suffer more in imagination than in reality,” commented the actor in one of his interventions.

Darling Arrieta, Edwin's sister, reacted to all these words in an exclusive interview for ¡De Fridays!, the Telecinco program presented by Beatriz Archidona and Santi Acosta. The Colombian reappeared in a Spanish media after her first statements about the case between August and October. On this occasion, she has harshly charged against Daniel and Rodolfo Sancho alike.

In his words, the accused's family should respect and show more empathy towards Edwin, questioning the cook's actions. He explains that he should have called for help like any self-respecting human being, and that his real intention was to kill him. Regarding Rodolfo Sancho, Darling criticized all of his statements issued in the documentary series, claiming that they did not know his brother to speak like that.

The interviewee was outraged by the definition of “influenceable person” in relation to Daniel Sancho, ensuring that it cannot be applied to a 29-year-old person. She also attacked the idea that there were “two victims,” insisting that they wanted to paint Edwin as the culprit for his own death. Darling ruled that the crime could not be erased no matter how much power, money or influence the Sanchos brought to the table.
