Coworking for beauticians and express cafeterias, Jeff's idea that "brings life" to the neighborhoods of València

Two years ago, Fit Jeff opened three multidisciplinary rooms in Valencia where you can practice yoga or pilates, among other activities, prior reservation in the mobile application. One is in the vicinity of the Viveros gardens, another in Campanar and the third, in the Patraix neighborhood and they say it works "wonderfully". Despite how different they are from each other, it is the bet that the Jeff startup makes, to expand through the different neighborhoods to, they say, give them life. “Our purpose is to give back what technology was taking away from us, product stores have become mere shop windows”, explains Fernando Marzal, VP of New Business of this company born in Valencia.

The company focuses on its hometown to increase its presence and speed up its business models, opening a total of 50 businesses this year, some even in the metropolitan area: Burjassot and Torrent are among its plans, although for a second phase of the expansion plan.

Jeff currently has six stores open in the city of Valencia: a Mr Jeff, his home laundry model; three Fit Jeffs, the fitness boutique for yoga, pilates and functional training; a Jeff Works, the coworking offered by the company at its headquarters -located in the vicinity of Avenida del Puerto- and a Coffee Jeff, the latest opening, a model of coffee to go with innovative and quality drinks.

To this latest project, which also plans to expand through the different neighborhoods, will soon add the opening of a beauty coworking under the Beauty Jeff brand, which in practice will be a salon where hairdressing and beauty specialists can rent a work space by the hour, or a chair, to serve your customers.

“The traditional salon is suffering a lot and in the end they are business models that are difficult to manage. We believe that it is a way for a hairdresser to have a career plan”, explains Marzal. Without wanting to specify, the company has already closed the location of the new premises and it will be, in this case, in a central area, although they also hope to have a presence in the neighborhoods of Arrancapins, Patraix, or Eixample, "neighborhoods where there is business life because with the hairdressing vertical we want to go where there are hairdressers and where professionals in the sector also reside”.

As Fernando Marzal explains, the new vertical was scheduled to start before the pandemic, but it comes out late in the initial forecasts. Although they have not spoken with the professional associations, Marzal assures that they have analyzed the market and detected the neighborhoods of the city in which there could be more demand.

In this operation, they have been attentive to the Amunt Persianes aid program, which subsidizes the opening of commercial ground floors to fight against commercial desertification. Because Jeff's manager assures that the company's mission is also to "democratize entrepreneurship," explains Marzal.

The manager adds that Jeff Capital, the initiative to finance the operating capital of entrepreneurs, allows those interested to set up a "Jeff brand" business for around 20,000 euros, because "we want anyone who wants it to have their own business open and for this we want to find people with an entrepreneurial mentality but who do not have the economic capacity to do so”.

Jeff's journey is the one followed by many other companies born online, such as Singularu, also from Valencia, and which landed in the physical market because by putting the brand on the street and giving it visibility, they manage to attract other clients who, initially , they were not according to their estimates.
