The police commissioner of the Mossos d'Esquadra, Josep Maria Estela, was received this morning at the offices of the Ponent police region in Lleida with a loud spontaneous ovation of welcome. The commanders of the region were waiting for him at the gates of the police stations, receiving him in the street with applause and hugs. But the surprise has been enormous when, upon entering the lobby of the police station, police and administrative personnel have leaned out over the railings of the different floors of the police precinct to applaud and cheer him.
The gesture has been completely spontaneous, without anyone having organized it and has greatly moved the police command that this Tuesday has joined his new responsibility in front of the Ponent region, after nine months as chief commissioner of the Mossos.
