Àlex Collado will play on loan at Elche this season, as Barça reported this Monday, which continues to work on the definitive preparation of its squad and on the reduction of the salary mass of the first team before the market closes on September 1 .
The Catalan ends his contract with the Catalan entity on June 30, 2023, so the player from Sabadell would be free to choose a new destination at the end of this campaign. Collado, 23, joined the Barça club in 2010, when he was only eleven years old. He was burning stages in the lower categories until in the 2018-19 season he went up to Barça B.
Collado, who was captain of the subsidiary, has not managed to establish himself in the first team. After being left without a file last summer, he was transferred to Granada in the winter market, where under the orders first of coach Robert Moreno and after Aitor Karanka he had a leading role, participating in 17 games and scoring two goals.
After the dramatic decline of the Nasrid team, Collado returned to the discipline of Barça, already under the baton of Xavi Hernández. Unlike those discarded, the Egarense coach took the Catalan striker on tour in the United States, where he had a few minutes, although in the last match against the New York Red Bulls he was left without playing.
The arrival of several reinforcements in the attacking line plus the renewal of Ousmane Dembélé left him without a place in the offensive zone, so the club began to look for a new destination for him. Collado will try to settle in First in the Elche team and, without a contract from June 2023, it seems that his stage as a Barcelona player has come to an end.
