Cold and ice on the Forat Mico route

Taking the Forat Mico route these last days of December involves traveling through a frozen landscape, full of ice sheets, since the cold is noticeable around the Ges river, in the Osona region, as can be seen in this photographic report in Photos from La Vanguardia Readers.

Forat Micó is a gorge formed by the river Ges, between Sant Pere de Torelló and Vidrà, between Bellmunt and the Sierra de Curull, in the heart of the Osona region.

The Ges River is a tributary of the Ter that rises in the Sierra de Santa Magdalena, in the region of Osona, and flows out after 19 kilometers in a southwesterly direction, after passing through the city of Torelló.

Frost is a meteorological phenomenon that consists of a drop in ambient temperature to levels below the freezing point of water and causes the water or vapor in the air to freeze, depositing it in the form of ice on surfaces, such as It can be seen in these photographs on this route of Sant Pere de Torelló.

The extreme case of frost is the black frost, which is when a frost occurs with greater pressure and even causes the plants to be completely destroyed.
