Chopard, extraordinary jewels in a tribute to the 7 arts

Knowing how to capture a detail with your eyes. Possess the sensitivity to see beyond an object, a work exhibited in a museum and even nature itself. That is the hidden talent of Caroline Scheufele, artistic director and co-president of Chopard, who knows how to embrace the beauty of everything that surrounds her and then translate it into her high jewelry collections. For the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, she designed 76 pieces that pay tribute to the seven arts—architecture, sculpture, painting, music, literature, dance and cinema—the noblest expressions of human ingenuity.

Scheufele's curious outlook always stems from a deep respect for craftsmanship and nature, which is why he only works with the most exceptional gems and stones. In the hands of Chopard's creative, jewelry takes on a new dimension; one that is born from his creativity and travels to the depths of the bearer of him.

Each piece in the Red Carpet collection highlights the talent and mastery of the luxury house's artisans. To carry out this mission, Scheufele uses the best of innovation: from the use of new materials, such as working with titanium, to the use of unprecedented techniques for cutting stones. In this edition, extraordinary stones shine above the rest for their color, volume, transparency and aura.

The nods to the symbology of nature and its animals are a recurring game in Chopard's ideology. Like the range of shades of a butterfly-shaped ring—an insect generally represented in the decorative arts to symbolize the ephemeral nature of life—which refers to the play of colors and shapes that painters master. Without overlooking the elegant necklaces of dyed titanium and tanzanites that interpret the genius of architecture through their symmetry and carefully studied proportions.
