Buses that do not arrive, broken ramps and more delays on Valencia school routes

Problems continue with school transportation in the province of Valencia. On this fourth day of classes after the start of the course, the Department of Education figures this Thursday at 14 school routes affected and the involvement of up to 17 buses.

Far from being resolved quickly, this Thursday it was detected that some buses have not reached their destination, another has arrived with a damaged ramp, there have been delays and even the case of a vehicle that, being too large, could not circulate on the population and they have had to change it, causing students to arrive late to class.

The incidents have affected the CEIP centers Vicente Blasco Ibáñez de Moncada, the CEIP Mare de Déu de la Vallivana, in Picassent; the CEIP Forn d'Alcedo and the IES 9 d'Octubre, in Carlet. There are also four special education centers, the CEE Enric Valor de El Grau de Gandia; the CEE Carmen Picó de Alzira; the CEE La Unión de Torrent and the CEE La Encarnación de Torrent affected, the latter two with 3 and 4 buses involved.

Consequently, the Department headed by José Antonio Rovira is already processing the file to apply "the corresponding penalties." Likewise, once the file has been substantiated, after the hearing and the allegations presented by the UTE, the measures or sanctions have been applied, the Department ensures that "if it were impossible for the successful bidder to execute with all the guarantees the provision of the service in the agreed terms, the contract will be terminated."

They also explain that they are in "close contact" with the transport company responsible for the incidents and that operations are being monitored to ensure that they comply with the necessary punctuality and safety standards, which are included in detail in the contract specifications.

Likewise, they ensure that all the bodies in the Department are working so that the incidents suffered by users of school transport, especially the students of the Special Education Centers, have the service "with the quality and safety guarantees established by the regulations." ".
