Whatever is capable of uniting a harmonica, let no one separate it. If not, tell Bruce Springsteen, who witnessed firsthand how one of his most prized instruments became the "condition" for a couple's future marriage. A curious moment that even led the rock legend to stop the concert so that the proposal could be carried out.
It happened at the Voldsløkka Stadion, in Oslo (Norway), where The Boss and his E Street Band arrived in a new double stop on their successful tour of Europe. The artist performed his greatest hits, but when it came time for Mary's Place, from one of the songs from his album The Rising (2002), the concert became surreal.
Performing the song, the musician saw how one of his followers raised a sign with a written text. Incredulous, he decided to stop singing and read what he was saying aloud to the thousands of worshipers who had flocked there: "Dear Bruce, my boyfriend says that if I get the harmonica he will consider proposing to me this summer."
A few words that left the singer ojiplático, who could not help but repeat incredulously: "Will he consider? If you get the harmonica, will this idiot ask you to marry him?", he asked the follower from the stage, who nodded very excitedly. Said and done, The Boss asked for his precious musical instrument and gave it to the couple, whom he called to come up on stage.
The woman was obviously excited, unable to believe what she had just achieved. She received applause from the public, but her partner... Yes, the artist also called her boyfriend on stage, who was not met with such a warm reception as he expected, as can be seen in some videos recorded by other followers in the concert.
Of course, he did not wait, and with his idol as a witness, he asked his girlfriend to marry him.
A moment that enchanted his followers, who are grateful that in addition to composing hits for posterity, the artist dedicates himself to creating things as important as memories; because surely this couple will never forget this moment.
The rest of the concert, the first of his two dates in the Norwegian capital, went as planned, without further requests from his fans, who had the opportunity to listen to great hits such as Born in the U.S.A., Born to Run or Dancing in the Dark.
The artist will finish his European tour this July, before returning to the United States next August.
