Barça retains one of its pearls: Bruna Vilamala renews until 2026

FC Barcelona continues to work on the future. The club's priority has always been to retain home talent and then strengthen itself with some strategic players that would give the team a plus. Continuing with this line, the blaugrana entity has announced this Wednesday the renewal of one of the pearls of La Masia, Bruna Vilamala, which has extended her relationship with the club for three more seasons, until June 2026.

“I have been here half my life and I am very happy to be able to renew for three more years. La Masia has given me everything, they have seen me grow as a person and as a footballer", the player explained to the club's media. Bruna sealed her continuity at Barça this afternoon, in the presence of the president Joan Laporta, the vice president Rafa Yuste and the director responsible for women's football, Xavi Puig, and she was excited to be able to continue wearing this shirt: "For me they are the best players in the world and it's a privilege to share a dressing room with them, I'm very happy to be able to do it”.

The 20-year-old striker is one of the jewels of the Blaugrana academy. Since her debut with the first team in the 2019/20 season, she has played a total of 40 games and scored 20 goals. Her club highlights her "silk left foot" and her capacity for "resilience" after having overcome a long injury. Bruna tore her cruciate ligaments in a concentration with the Spanish U-23 team in October 2021 and after almost 13 months off the pitch, she made her debut last November. “I was dying to go back because I saw that everything was being promoted a lot. When you are playing, you enjoy it much more, ”she confesses.

The renewal of Bruna Vilamala was the only one that was missing for Markel Zubizarreta, who in recent months had also tied up Jana Fernàndez, Caroline Graham Hansen, Ingrid Engen, Fridolina Rolfö, Irene Paredes, Cata Coll and Claudia Pina. Thus, there is no Blaugrana left to finish their contract this summer, allowing the Catalan club to look to next year, when the contract of key players such as Alexia Putellas, Patri Guijarro, Mapi León or Mariona Caldentey, among others, ends.
