Barça formalizes the goodbye of Brandon Davies, Rolands Smits and Nigel Hayes-Davis

In a statement that has more to do with protocol than anything else, Barça basketball has officially announced in the middle of the San Juan afternoon the goodbye of Brandon Davies, Rolands Smits and Nigel Hayes-Davis, news advanced at the time by La Vanguardia .

The three players who have been under the orders of Sarunas Jasikevicius this season without much continuity in their game ended their contracts on June 30, although not all cases have been the same.

The most painful for Barça has been that of Brandon Davies, who moments after the announcement confirmed his signing for Olimpia Milan after repeatedly rejecting the renewal offers made by the club. Confidence man of the coach, with whom he already worked at Zalgiris, the pivot leaves through the back door of the Palau after the last stretch of the season totally disconnected from the game and even bordering on the lack of professionalism with some attitudes that have been very disappointing the coaching staff and the club leaders.

In the other two cases, those of Smits and Hayes, it has been the club that has made the decision not to continue. The Latvian has lacked continuity and has ended up in no man's land despite the fact that he has more potential than he has shown and will sign for Baskonia or Valencia. The North American, for his part, has not met expectations in his first year and it has been decided to release him, even though his signing was a personal bet by Jasikevicius.

With the official announcement made by Barça, construction of the squad for next season begins. In fact, there could be some more exit although the first signings will arrive before. They will be Jan Vesely and Oscar da Silva.
