Barça activates the security protocol for visiting fans for the match against PSG

FC Barcelona has confirmed that it will implement "the necessary security measures to guarantee the safety of local and visiting fans" for the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinals between the Catalan team and PSG. The club will also adopt control measures on ticket sales and the presence of rival fans outside the visiting zone in the stadium. These restrictions have been carried out after the threat from the Islamic State to carry out an attack in the Champions League quarterfinals.

With this statement, Barça calls on all PSG fans who do not have a ticket not to go to the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys next Tuesday, April 16, because they will not be able to purchase tickets anywhere on the field. The Catalan team has clarified that only "those PSG fans who have a ticket distributed by their club and for the area reserved for visiting fans" will be able to access the stadium.

In turn, Barça, to avoid the massive entry of rival fans, has made the decision to block the sale of tickets to IP addresses in the opposing team's country and they will not sell tickets at the stadium ticket offices before the match.

These measures have been established after the meeting was declared high risk. In addition, security around the stadium will be greater after the threat from the Islamic State to carry out an attack in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals.

The Ministry of the Interior has responded to this risk of attack with a call for calm and has reinforced security for this week's matches, so it is expected that next Tuesday, at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, some 2,000 police officers.
