Bankinter will join what the two banking employers agree on in terms of aid to vulnerable customers for mortgages, but the profile of the customer who requests a mortgage loan at Bankinter has a higher purchasing power than at other banks, since in the entity directed by María Dolores Dancausa, the average mortgage rises to 200,000 euros.

The directive has pointed out in a press conference that Bankinter "will not take additional measures", but will apply the rules that are reflected in the Code of Good Practices. Of course, he has made it clear that they always negotiate with each client because "we don't like them to have a bad time". Regarding CaixaBank's proposal to allow its customers not to pay their mortgage for a year, he stated "I don't have an opinion because each entity knows the profile of its customers".

The measure that Economy plans to approve, with the approval of the banks, in his opinion affects those "variable-rate mortgages granted in the last five years and in which sufficient capital has not yet been paid."

Dancausa has said that the sector has not yet calculated how many families will be able to benefit from the aid approved by the Government. But it has clarified that Bankinter has not been receiving calls in recent months from its clients with problems when it comes to paying the mortgage.

Regarding the banking tax, Dancausa has reiterated that "it is unfair, a confiscatory and irrational measure." He has even said: "I don't know what banking has to do with inflation." In his opinion, in the previous banking crisis, "Bankinter did not receive any type of public aid, but we contributed to that rescue, which would have to free the banks that we have not received any type of aid." He has also pointed out that it is necessary to see "what the tax is and what the ECB says". The Financial Times is already pointing out today that there is going to be a confrontation between the Frankfurt-based supervisor and the Spanish government.

Bankinter has announced that it has earned 430 million up to September, which is 21% more than the same period last year. The bank points out that these results exclude the capital gains generated by the IPO of the insurer Línea Directa. The result before taxes of the banking activity was 601.6 million, which implies a growth of 35.9% compared to the same period of the previous year.

The gross margin stood at 1,518 million, almost 7% more, and the operating margin before provisions was 863 million, 8% more.

The credit investment of the bank directed by María Dolores Dancausa has reached 73 million, 10% more. Bankinter maintains one of the lowest delinquency ratios in the sector, standing at 2.10%, falling 30 basis points below a year ago. The coverage rate is 65.1%.

In terms of solvency, its first quality capital is 11.9%, ranking among the highest in the sector.

Within the different businesses, business is the one that makes the greatest contribution to income. Its credit investment portfolio reached 30,800 million, 11.5% more. The new credit production for this period is 40% higher than that of the first nine months of 2021. The transactional and international business are strongly pulling those figures.

As for the retail business, the private banking division reached 49,300 million, 3% more, with new capital raised of 3,400 million.
