Baleària closes its 25th anniversary with the publication of a commemorative book that reviews the history of the shipping company, from its creation in 1998 to today becoming the leading maritime company in Spain. The book, which has been published in four languages (Spanish, Catalan, English and French), is Baleària's gift this Christmas to its stakeholders.
The book reviews the milestones achieved by the company and details the main figures of the shipping company, which began with four routes, six ships and a staff of 125 people, and which a quarter of a century later operates 25 routes in six countries. with a fleet of 35 boats and a team of more than 2,500 people. In these years, 85 ships have sailed under the Baleària flag, which has transported around 60 million passengers and 87 million linear meters of cargo.
The history of the shipping company is divided into eight chapters, which review the complicated beginnings of the shipping company and a first commitment to high speed, which revolutionized maritime communications with the Balearic Islands, and which later gave way to a paradigm shift where sustainability, Innovation and the travel experience marked the direction that the company currently guides. Other chapters cover the expansion of the shipping company beyond the Balearic Islands, the importance of the ship as a strategic element of the economy, Baleària's commitment to society and its team, as well as the economic reality of the company. along its history.

With a modern and minimalist design, the 176-page book has a strong visual component, highlighting photographs of the main ships that have been part of the shipping company's fleet throughout its history. In addition to the 6,000 paper copies, a digitized and interactive version has been made in Spanish, which can be consulted at the end.
With the publication of this book, Baleària puts an end to the actions with which it has celebrated 25 years since its foundation, which began in January with a commemorative event in Fitur. In June, the company held a popular party at its headquarters in Baleària Port Dénia and presented the documentary A 25-year journey, which tells its story through experts in the shipping world and first-person testimonies of the entire history of the company. company. Furthermore, the Baleària Foundation has organized, in different territories where the shipping company operates, the exhibition 25 years Baleària to commemorate the history of the maritime transport company through works by various artists from different parts of the Mediterranean.
