One of the proposals that the municipal group of the PSC has contributed in exchange for supporting the municipal budget of Badalona for 2024 is the inclusion of an item to organize the municipal sociocultural holiday service for people over 60 years of age. An initiative similar to "Imserso" but that the City Council will offer starting next year.
The PSC spokesperson, Fernando Carrera, has included several proposals in the negotiations for his municipal group to support the 2024 budget that the government of Xavier Garcia Albiol will present. The most striking is the creation of a sociocultural travel service to points in Catalonia and the State. What will popularly be known as "Imserso" municipal "is a project that already works in other socialist municipalities and that we want to work for our city," said the PSC spokesperson.
Apart from this travel initiative for seniors, the negotiations between the PSC and the PP to support the municipal budget include other proposals such as extending the lifeguard service beyond the end of the season and expanding its hours adapted to the new uses of the Beaches. Another agreement will be to reactivate the "bons consumption" project promoted by the previous socialist executive and which was widely accepted among local businesses.
The socialists have also proposed incorporating into the next budget an allocation to increase the staff of the Servei Integral d'Atenció a la Dona (SIAD), reinforcing psychological care and legal assistance. Likewise, the two groups have agreed on the provision of staff for a new Housing service and the drafting of a Plan d'Habitatge for Badalona.
