The Badalona Urban Guard (Barcelonès Nord) has opened proceedings and sealed a supermarket located on Alfons XIII street, in the Artigues neighborhood. The inspection of the establishment has confirmed that the electrical connection is irregular and has been disconnected.
The owners have chosen to transfer all the refrigerated foods that were in the store (meat, dairy, frozen foods, etc.) to other establishments to prevent them from spoiling. The establishment will not be able to reopen until it has a legal and safe electrical connection.
It so happens that this is the second establishment in the same chain that the Badalona Urban Police has had to act against for fraudulently obtaining the electricity supply, after a first case at the beginning of November.
The mayor of Badalona, Xavier García Albiol, has highlighted this fact and has warned that "operating with the light on is not only illegal, but also poses a danger." "The Government of Badalona will not consent to acts in a criminal manner, as this supermarket chain is doing," he added.
