Bad Gyal, Aphex Twin and Little Simz complete the Sónar festival lineup

The Sónar festival has completed the poster for this 2023 edition with the incorporation of almost fifty names. These include Aphex Twin, Bad Gyal, Little Simz, Eric Prydz and the dj and producer Black Coffee.

These join the already announced BICEP live, Fever Ray, Amelie Lens, Peggy Gou, The Blessed Madonna, Solomun, Laurent Garnier or Richie Hawtin, until reaching the hundred performances that the festival will offer on the 15th, 16th and 17th of June.

On the other hand, the Sónar D digital art and culture meeting expands its public scenario by offering the most participatory program in its history, with more than a hundred activities and proposals.

Thus, topics of maximum relevance and impact in our daily lives will be addressed, such as Artificial Intelligence and its effects on art and society, the climate emergency as a leitmotiv for creators from multiple disciplines and new creative processes and practices.

In this last area, you can enjoy everything from the shows by Daito Manabe and Desert to the audiovisual talk by the creative studio Universal Everything and the masterclass for the new generations of creators by Elijah, creator of Yellow Squares.

Among the additions announced today, a few stand out, such as the one that will star on Friday, June 16, Aphex Twin, who will perform at Sónar for the first time in 12 years. In this way, the cult artist and godfather of modern electronics will return after four years away from the stage.

Saturday will be the day of the most powerful immersive audiovisual show of the moment worldwide, HOLO, the acclaimed 3D mega-production of the great progressive house banner Eric Prydz. Sónar will thus offer one of the few opportunities in the world to live this spectacular and unusual experience live.

On the same day, Bad Gyal will perform for the first time at Sónar by Night. The Catalan artist -who made her triumphant debut last Saturday at her first Palau Sant Jordi- will return to the festival already a global idol to present the songs from her debut album, La joia, which will be released this year, as well as the great successes of his career.

Like every year, in parallel to everything that happens from June 15 to 17 at Fira Montjuïc and Fira Gran Via, the festival will spread throughout the city with its SonarExtra programme. the AI

Likewise, Sónar D will collaborate with the International Symposium on Soundscape, organized by the University of Barcelona (UB), which will take place on June 13 and 14. On June 15, the UB research team (philosophers, art historians, composers, musicians, architects, demographers and engineers) will present the results of the research at Sónar D.
