Award to seven women and two entities as leaders in the technological field

Seven women and two entities have been honored with the DonaTIC 2023 Awards, promoted by the Government with the aim of increasing female presence, entrepreneurship and leadership in the technological and digital field. The 86 candidatures presented in the ninth call for the awards have also opted for special mentions and complementary awards offered by collaborating entities and companies.

The DonaTIC 2023 Awards ceremony was held last Thursday at the Convent dels Àngels in Barcelona and, for the first time, coinciding with the commemoration of the International Day of Entrepreneurial Women, on November 19. The Minister of Business and Labor, Roger Torrent i Ramió, emphasizes that “we are now at a crucial moment in which we are deciding what and how we will be in a few years, and that is why it is essential that we fight to combat the gender gap, because “It is unfair that we exclude half the population from these opportunities.”

· Entrepreneur: Conxi Perez Andreu. Computer engineer and specialist in artificial intelligence (AI), she is co-founder and CEO of RollDBox Games, dedicated to the creation of video games, and of In Movement! A leading woman in the world of video games and committed to promoting women in the field of ICT from the Women Angels for STEAM association.

· Professional: Mireia Colina Fatjó. Telecommunications Engineer and master in security and web technologies with an extensive professional career linked to ICT and with 20 years of experience in the space sector. She has worked in different countries and institutions such as the European Space Agency, research centers and large companies.

· Academic/Researcher: Aïda Valls Mateu. Computer Engineer and PhD in AI, specialist in data analysis and recommendation systems, researcher and head of the consolidated ITAKA research group at the Rovira i Virgili University.

· Announcer: Àurea Rodríguez López. Degree in Biochemistry with post-graduation in blockchain, she is the creator of

· Revelation: Alba Badia Rifà. Graduated in Industrial Technology Engineering, she is president, Team Leader and responsible for the launch operations of Cosmic Research, a student association linked to the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Terrassa. This organization has the mission of designing, building and launching suborbital rockets for the benefit of society.

· University Student: Ainhoa ​​Castaño Martos. Double degree student of Computer Engineering and Electronic Telecommunications Engineering. She participates in the Community Dynamization Unit or the TecnoUAB collective, and in parallel, she works in Big Data Care Research and collaborates with Telecos.cat.

· FP Student: Emma Casadevall Hernández. Student of the Higher Degree Training Cycle in Administration of computer systems and networks, specialized profile in Cybersecurity. She has created an AI application connected to a Bluetooth bracelet that, when activated, can help a person who is in a dangerous situation.

· Special mention in improving skills (FP area): Yolanda Moreno Arranz, student of Higher Degree Training Cycle in Web Application Development.

· Business: Launch in Barcelona SL, with the STEM Women Congress initiative, whose objective is to disseminate science and technology and get more women in STEM disciplines.

· From Entity, Training Center or Institution: Ajuntament d'Esplugues de Llobregat with the Mujer3 initiative. Science, Talent and Technology, which aims to promote effective and real equality of opportunities between men and women in the scientific and technological world through activities that promote the participation of girls and women in the CTEHM field.

· Special mention in the Cybersecurity field: Vanesa Daza Fernandez. Graduate and doctor in Mathematics with specialization in the field of cryptography, she is currently vice-rector for Knowledge Transfer and professor at UPF.

· Special mention in the aerospace field: Anna Ferré Mateu. Recognized international astrophysics researcher, reference in the field of galaxy formation and evolution as a way to reveal what the universe is like.

· Special mention in the Digital Culture field: Rosa Maria Gil Iranzo. She has a doctorate in Computer Science and Digital Communication, she promotes the relationship between art and technology from Lleida and creates complicities with local entities and projects, in addition to working as a university professor at the Higher Polytechnic School of the University of Lleida.

For their part, the candidates for the DonaTIC 2023 Award in the Entrepreneur category Lucia Gonzalez Navarrete, with the Natives project, and Astrid Camprubí Hernández, with the OMMA Data project, have been selected by Netmentora Catalunya to be part of its network and enjoy of business support for up to two years so that they can continue promoting their projects. Likewise, thanks to Google's collaboration in this edition of the awards, the winner of the award in this category, Conxi Perez Andreu, will become part of the global Google for Startups network.
