Autumn takes refuge in the Vall d'Ora

In these times of climate change, when it sometimes seems that the seasons of the year can no longer be distinguished, autumn seems to have taken refuge in the Vall d'Ora, in the Solsonès, where it is shown with fantastic colors, as seen in this report. in The Photos of La Vanguardia Readers.

At the foot of the impressive cliffs of Busa, within the municipality of Navès and the northeast of the Solsonès region, the Aiguadora river forms a wide valley with places of great beauty, which in autumn burst with the most genuine tones of this season of the year.

This splendid place, which has always been a place of passage and refuge, grew up around the Romanesque monastery of Sant Pere de Graudescales, from the 10th century.

According to the story, Count Guifré el Pelós was mortally wounded in this valley, and in memory of this event, the Navès City Council dedicated a small monument to him that we will find at the foot of the road.

Its inhabitants, who live dispersed in farmhouses, and once poorly communicated, have kept the natural image of the valley and the spirit of self-sufficiency intact, according to Turisme del Solsonès.

In addition to enjoying these fully autumnal landscapes, in the Vall d'Ora you can visit the sawmill and the Ca l'Ambròs and Cal Guirre mills, which are activated by the force of water. A few meters away you can see the small Romanesque bridge and the old school houses a sample of the utensils and tools of the countryside.
