At least eight dead in a fire at a hostel in Moscow

At least eight people died and eight others were injured in a fire that broke out last night in a Moscow hostel, located on the first floor of a residential building, the Russian Emergencies Ministry reported today.

According to the official note, the fire took place in an establishment located on Alma-Atínskaya street, in the southeast of the Russian capital.

"Eight people were found without signs of life," indicates the statement, which shares that the fire spread over an area of more than 150 square meters.

According to the latest official data, there are also eight wounded, who were admitted to a hospital in the capital and are being treated.

Evidence indicates that the cause of the fire was an electrical fault. The tenants of the hostel could not leave it in time due to the bars that covered the windows of the first floor of the building.
